課程概述 |
一、內容:
The course is intended for the students who are beginning a serious study of literature. It seeks to give the students a sufficient grasp of the nature and variety of literary works, some reasonable approaches for reading them for appreciative understanding, and some basic principles for making literary judgment. The students are introduced to a diverse constellation of writer and broad range of essays, stories, poems, and plays.
The objective is to enable the students to understand, enjoy, and prefer good works of literature. By close reading and effective teaching, the students will get valuable experience to look through author`s eyes and leap over the wall of self.

An Introduction to Literature, HarperCollins Publishers.
75 Readings: An Anthology, MacGrall-Hill Book Company.
三、成績評量方式:
Students have to preview all reading assignments before class. Active participation in all class activities is required. Final grade will be based on written exams and homework assignments, class participation, and oral presentation.
